5 keys to your weight loss success in 2010
It’s that time of the year again…you are thinking about those New Year resolutions. You may have had some success in the past with setting some New Year goals or you may be like most of the people that I speak with…you set goals with great intentions but sadly you look back with unfulfilled goals.
Well, I have great news for you, Not This Year! Â This is a New Year and it is time for a New You!
I want for you to experience your best in 2010.  I want for you to look your best and feel your best this year.  This could be the best year of your life, if you want it to…
Don’t leave this year to chance! Don’t hope but rather expect great things and big time results.
Don’t just set goals but CRUSH IT in 2010!
You deserve these results, you deserve this body that you desire and you deserve to feel confident and happy about yourself once again. Don’t look back and say “what if†or “if only.† “If only I took control of my health I would feel better,†or “what if I would have followed that plan maybe I would have lost that weight and have the body that I desire.† To look back with regret is a horrible feeling. This year make a decision to not have to look back with unfulfilled goals and the feeling of regret.

Ok, ok, I know what you are thinking… “I have tried setting goals at this time of the year in the past but just haven’t seemed to be successful with it.â€Â You are not alone! I speak with so many people that are so stressed out about this because they do not feel confident about the way they look and keep failing over and over each year after making these big resolutions. Through Bootcamp Tulsa I have been so privileged to be able to assist so many people in looking and feeling their best and experiencing life for what it should be.

First, I want for you to visualize what that perfect body looks like for you. You see it? Now, do you want it? I mean do you really want it? Over the next few months as you are putting the time in and things get tough I want for you to remind yourself of that picture of that body that you desire. I am not going to lie to you and say it is going to be easy, but I will make it simple for you. Remember, consistency is key and what I am going to give to you today is a tool and for it to be effective you have got to utilize it.

1. Be Realistic!
Don’t set yourself up for failure. Be realistic…You have all year.  So many times people put such large expectations on themselves that when they aren’t seeing immediate results they quit.
Take baby steps to your ultimate goal. First, set your ultimate goal, your long term goal. Once you do this I then want for you to set short term goals that are going to lead you to your ultimate goal. The key here is to make sure that these short term goals are realistic ones. These are ones that you can attain if you are putting the time in.

2. Get Accountable!
It will be a lot easier for you to reach your goals if you allow yourself to be accountable to someone during this time. Remember you are busy and have a lot going so if you have someone that can make sure you are taking care of business it will really help. Find a friend or family member that is on board with what you are doing… Yes, this is a shameless pug-This accountability is one of the main factors of why our Bootcamp Tulsa clients are experiencing tremendous results.  Make sure to let everyone know what your goals are so that they can make sure to keep reminding you of them. 3. Tell Everyone!
So, you set your goals and you made yourself accountable. Now, I want for you to tell the people around you what your goal is. At first this will be tough but it is crucial! I want for everyone that you are around on a daily basis to know what you are going to accomplish. This is going to help assure that you achieve that goal because these people are going to start to remind you. When you are out to lunch and you go to order something that may not be on your plan someone is going to say, “Should you be eating that? Is that on your plan?†This is another way to be accountable. If you really want to reach those goals then you have got to get transparent!
4. You Are What You Eat!
If you want to transform your body you have got to pay attention to what you are eating. I am not talking about going on a diet here. We all know diets don’t work. I am talking about making a few lifestyle changes. This is such a crucial component to your success and there is so much misleading information out there that has made it more difficult on people to lose weight. When it comes to your nutrition you have got to pay attention to three things.
- What you eat: Start to pay attention to the foods that you are eating. Try to eat lean foods and stay away from fried food and sugars.
- When you eat: Make sure to eat breakfast and start to eat smaller, more frequent meals throughout the day. If you can eat something every 3 hours this will help you speed up your metabolism and burn fat more efficiently.
- How much you eat: Try to stick to those portion sizes. Remember about the size of your fist. This rule applies to all foods except your veggies. You need to eat veggies at every meal and eat all you want of them.
5. Start Moving
Burn it and Tone it! If you want to transform your body you have got to exercise. The right kind of exercise will help you to burn calories so that you can lose excess fat and also help you to tone up those trouble areas. Here is a great starter workout that I designed for you that will help you maximize your time and maximize your results. I want for you to perform this workout 3 days a week and then on the other days do something active for at least 30 minute. Have fun!
