Who Is The REAL Biggest Loser?

Ok, I don’t think I have ever watched a whole episode of the Biggest Loser but due to my wife’s obsession and love of the show I have seen bits and pieces of the show.

First, let me say that I am not a hater. I am all about people transforming their lives and I am all about the part of people getting a kick in the butt to lose weight.

I say that to say, IT IS A TV SHOW! It’s a TV show in a $50 billion weight loss industry!

They make money off playing with people’s emotions and drama! That is what people want so that is what they give you. Just like a great soap opera.

I want to caution you today, do not become a viewer victim!

The problem that I see with the Biggest Loser is what I have seen with a lot of the other products in this $50 billion industry. They mislead and lie to get what they want!

The Biggest Loser  is you, the viewer! This show is hurting most viewers rather than helping.

“Well, coach how can you say that? They are changing lives!”

Yes, I understand that people watch the show and get motivated to get up off of their couch and start moving. But being in the fitness industry now for 10 years I understand that reality is not always what is perceived.

The false hope and expectation that people receive from watch this show is ridiculous. If you don’t believe me check out the emails that I receive!

People are desperate searching for a solution and the answer to their weight loss that they believe the Biggest Loser Show has…and if only they could get on the show then they would lose the weight.

I am not dogging the show, I am just telling you to wake up! Please understand that the results that these contestants (actors) are experiencing are not real life. They are put into a very special environment to experience the results that they do. Please understand that everything is not always what it seems.

If Jillian or Bob would come right now and tell you that someone in their normal situation at home could experience the results that the contestants are experiencing on the show they would be lying to you.

Listen, I believe and preach results. My Bootcamp Tulsa Program has a money back guarantee and we coach people so that they can experience the results that they desire. So I am not telling you results are not possible. What I am telling you is be realistic with your results. What I am telling you is do not set yourself up for failure by watching the Biggest Loser Show!

Here are just two of my reasons to why this show should be labeled a soap opera.

Soap Opera Drama #1

My wife usually TiVo’s the shows. After the first episode she called me over to show me how these severely obese people were challenged to run a mile in extreme heat and how one of them almost died.

My response was, “That’s awesome honey!” Yes, I was being sarcastic…kind of!

I don’t know about you but if I am severely obese watching this show and decide to get up of the couch and go run a mile. Probably not the best thing to do! Do you really think Bob or Jillian would advise this for a severely obese person on their first week of training? I surely hope not!

This is a repeat occurrence. Week in and week out these contestants are asked to perform exercises that 99% of most obese people should not be doing or cannot do. Setting you up for failure!

Soap Opera Drama #2

The trainers acting like drill sergeants:

I have nothing against Jillian or Bob and I bet they are both good people but I really believe that this show has molded them to be what it needs them to be to make money. DRAMA!  I could see it now, the producers telling them, “We need more blood Jillian!” We need more sweat!”  “Make her cry Bob!”

The drama of Biggest Loser Show and its yelling, screaming, puking, crying, collapsing, extreme dieting, eight-hour a day workout regiments and falling off of treadmills…

Come on now! How is this real life?

Again, if I am an obese person watching this show why would I put down my gallon of ice cream and want to lose weight? That is not fun! That is not appealing!

It’s a friggin soap opera!

And why after the seasons don’t you hear about the contestants who gain much or most of the weight back. That’s right; I am telling you that once a lot of these contestants are put back into the real world that they put the weight back on. You don’t see that part of the show…

You don’t hear about the viewers who try to implement the Biggest Loser Show strategies and are pretty much guaranteed to fail once again. You don’t hear about the eating disorders, the depression and all the negative side effects that occur from the guilt and shame of failing because of the unrealistic expectations and misleading results.

I believe that this show is setting viewers up for failure, Period!

So, if you are reading this you have two options. You can continue to believe what a soap opera will continue to tell you or you can take control of your life today.

After watching The Biggest Loser show, which spotlights quick and dramatic weight loss, everyone wants to know the quickest way to lose weight.

With all the information out there and all of the empty promises how do you know where to turn for a quick and safe weight loss strategy.

Get six pack abs in 30 days!

Lose 11 pounds and 11 inches in just one week!

Eat all the food you want and still lose weight!

Lose up to 2 pounds a week without diet or exercise!

Have you ever heard any of these statements before?

This is the same thing that the Biggest Loser Show is doing. Capitalizing on the repeat customer, the desperate person that is searching for the answer to their weight loss struggle.

You know what they say, if it’s too good to be true, it is probably too good to be true!

Like I mentioned above, the weight loss industry is a $50 billion dollar industry and most of their profits come from repeat customers. They are out there preying on desperate people that want the quick fix weight loss.

Losing weight fast is possible and nothing is wrong with losing weight rapidly — as long you do it the right way.

We have seen some of our Bootcamp Tulsa clients drop as much as 15 pounds in a week following a very ambitious eating and exercise regimen. This is while following an aggressive routine devoting more than the normal hours per week to rigorous exercise.

Many people do not have the time or the discipline to dedicate to see these aggressive results. You can safely lose 2- 3 or more pounds a week at home with the right healthy diet and the right kind of exercise.

All I ask of the Biggest Loser show is to tell people that! Make sure your viewers are aware of what reality really is and what to expect!

Losing weight is a lot more simpler then people make it. The bottom line is you need to burn more calories than you eat.

If you want to lose weight faster, you’ll need to eat less and exercise more, period!

I am here to tell you that there are no miracle pills and this is not a quick fix. Don’t set yourself up for failure, by believing all of the Biggest Loser hype!

You can do it and do it the right way.

Rather than just losing weight you want to be more interested in losing body fat. Losing weight does not necessarily mean you are getting leaner but losing body fat will assure that you are losing the right kind of weight and getting a leaner healthier body!

Here is a mini gameplan for you to get started:

  1. 1. Calories Out!

It is time to Work It and I do not mean overkill with the cardio.

I want you to shorten up your workouts to be more efficient and burn fat faster. Start your workout by warming up for at least 5 minutes to get your blood going and prepare your body. The fastest way to burn fat is to create chaos in the body. You will do this by performing high intensity exercises for short bursts followed by a small amount of recovery. The key here is using both a combination of conditioning exercises along with resistance exercises.

You are probably used to doing a large amount of cardio and very little resistance training and then feeling tired, over -trained and still not seeing the results that you desire. STOP!

I designed a workout just for you.  Go now and pick up “Your 8 minute Fat Burning Workout!” It’s yours FREE today!   Get it now at www.bootcamptulsa.com/communityspirit

  1. 2. Calories In!

I am not talking about going on a diet! Crash diets do not work and should not be a normal part of your lifestyle.

Eat a well balance diet with mostly your calories coming from lean foods and green foods. Remember, more calories out then in. If you want to burn fat fast follow this general rule of thumb for calories in: Women – 1500-1750/ Men – 2750-3250. You will do this by creating a deficit of 500 calories/day through a combination of eating less calories and increasing your activity. Make sure not drop below 1,200 calories for your safety.

If you do what you have always done then you will get what you have always got. Now is Your Time!

Keep It Simple!

Have Fun!

and Remember,

Your Life Is What You Make It!
