Chuck French is 42 years old and is District Chief with the Tulsa Fire Department. He has been a part of Fit First Responders since November 2015.
The coaches are Chuck’s favorite aspect of FFR because they are always upbeat, positive, and eager to help us achieve our goals. He says, “I often feel like they don’t get enough thank you’s from us for the tremendous job they perform. I also really appreciate the Christian based family atmosphere. It really helps me in my daily life at work and home.”
Chuck keeps coming back because of the coaches and the promotion of a positive attitude on a daily basis. His family has told him he is a completely different person. He says about this, “This has made a huge impact on me, and I don’t want to ever stop coming to FFR.”
Huck has lost almost 30 pounds since beginning the program. He began at 244 pounds and is currently at 216. He feels better physically and mentally, plus his overall strength has increased.
Explaining how FFR has changed his life, Chuck shares, “Well, like I stated earlier my family has noticed a positive change in my attitude at home. My wife and I have become closer as a result, which is something I really wanted to happen. I am more pleasant to be around. I finally have a better handle on my nutrition, which has helped with the weight loss. Overall, I found a place that helped dig me out of a rut I’ve been in for some time now. I have found something that has restored my motivation and drive which I haven’t had in awhile.”
Chuck finds he has much better mental focus and his attitude has become much more positive compared to the negative attitude he has had for sometime. He says, “I still get grumpy and have some bad days but the good days out weigh the bad days now. I have more energy and want to do more things instead of just sitting on the couch all day long. My sex life has gotten better as well.”
Chuck’s advice for anyone considering joining FFR: “Don’t wait! I waited from the first time I met Coach JC till I started the program at FFR. Get started today and really buy into the program. I was raised to trust but verify the kind of person so it took me some time to really buy into the program. I still struggle with nutrition but overall I have bought into the program. It has made a lasting impact on my life.”
