Katie West gets her Self-Confidence back at BcT!
Katie West is a 30 year old Visual Manager at Dillard’s. She joined Bootcamp Tulsa almost five years ago.
In the beginning Katie joined mainly to get in shape for her husband. Since she had gotten married she had gained weight. She says, “I loved the program and how everyone involved, the coaches and the ladies, would keep you accountable. The positive attitudes of everyone were inspiring.”
Katie had never really been an athlete and says she wasn’t blessed with hand-eye coordination. This made BcT a challenge for her because she had never learned how to work hard for what you want from a physical aspect. She said BcT taught her how to push herself out of her comfort zone. She adds, “I used to be so scared when I would see Coach JC’s Hummer in the mornings, knowing the workout would be intense.” She says that now she can’t wait to get up and go to one of his workouts!
Katie loves the intensity and the energy all the coaches and ladies bring! The friendships she has made have been life changing. She says, “It’s such a pleasure and a blessing to be able to work out with such amazing and inspiring women.”
March 14th, 2014, Katie gave birth to her my little boy, Levi. She had gained 40 pounds during pregnancy. As most women know, pregnancy takes an emotional and physical toll. Katie couldn’t wait to get cleared by her doctor to get back to working out! She started back about 6 weeks post-partum. She says, “I don’t think I have ever been so motivated to lose the baby weight, not only for my husband but for myself.”
Katie says Bootcamp Tulsa has given her self-confidence back. She says she still hasn’t reached her end goal but is happy to say since May 2014 she has lost almost 16 inches, went from a size 14 to almost a size 6! She is three pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight! She adds, “I can’t imagine where I would be today without Bootcamp Tulsa.”
Her advice to others is to not be scared, take control of your fitness and your life. Bootcamp Tulsa brings you not only a great workout but much more. It brings you accountability, friendships, and inspiration. I don’t think anyone could find that at a gym.
