Larissa Krafft — from “Mom Swimsuit” to Bikini

Larissa Krafft is a 34 year old mother of four (ages 12, 8, 6 and 6) and part-time piano teacher. She has been a part of Bootcamp Tulsa over 2 ½ years.

The favorite aspect of BcT for Larissa is the support and encouragement she receives from the other ladies. She says the benefits of attending Bootcamp extend far beyond the incredible workout and results. She has become very close friends with some of the women she works out with, and these ladies have become a support network for her in many aspects of life. She says, “It’s like a sisterhood!”

She says she keeps coming back because the workouts are never boring and never the same. She says in the 2 ½ years she has been at BcT, she has never done the same workout twice. She says this is due to the innovative and dedicated coaches. She says the coaches are extremely professional, caring and skilled at what they do. She knows she will get a challenging and fun workout every time. She adds, “Plus, the women are so much fun! There is no feeling that compares to someone making you laugh through an extremely difficult workout.”

As for results, Larissa says, “Yes! I have had 4 children (including twins) and my abdomen was in terrible shape. I thought I would never be able to wear a bikini again and resigned myself to wearing the dreaded ‘mom swimsuit’.” She says she wouldn’t trade them for the world, but the twin pregnancy had completely wrecked her body. In 2010 she started running, and initially it did help her work off the most of the baby weight. After about a year she plateaued and was not seeing any further results with running alone. She knew she needed to do some type of strength training to get out of her rut. A friend encouraged her to try Bootcamp Tulsa, and she loved it from the very first week. After lots of hard work, she could see her abs again and her arms and legs became more toned. She felt stronger and her running pace greatly improved. Larissa is still a runner and says BcT only enhances that. She says, “I do many local races and have been able to shave time off my pace and run further distances because of the training with Bootcamp Tulsa!”

Larissa says BcT has taught her that she can achieve her goals as long as she is persistent and willing to put in the hard work. She says, “I have found sweat and endorphins to be a great source of stress relief!” It is the one time of day she can truly focus on herself and not have to think about those daily stresses we all experience whether it be a job, relationship, kids, finances, etc.

She would tell anyone considering BcT to just take the first step and try it. She says the workouts can be modified to fit any fitness level. Don’t think that just because you are not already in great shape that you can’t do it. She says, “The coaches and ladies are there to encourage and help you along the way.”
