Terry Sivadon knew in his heart that FFR was the program for him!

Terry Sivadon’s life before Fit First Responders was just mediocre. In one way, it was great for him because he had just gotten married to the love of his life. On the other hand, he was not happy with himself. He knew he was overweight, would get out of breath easily and was worried about being able to do his job as a firefighter. He had high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and back and shoulder pain that would keep him awake at night. In his words, “I tried to be active and workout, but with no extra time at the fire station and making no time at home, it was not happening. I had a membership to a local gym, but I never went. I knew something had to be done, but I did not know where to start.”

Take a look at Terry’s video of his story:

After 25 weeks of FFR, Terry says he physically feels 100% better!!! He explains, “I feel stronger. I am much more active. I have so much more energy, and I am pain free. I am no longer taking medication for high blood pressure or high cholesterol. Mentally, I am much more positive about life. I am very confident in my ability to perform everyday tasks, whether they are at work or home. Spiritually, I have taken up the role of spiritual leader of my family. I have spent more time in prayer, and have become more grateful for God’s gifts. Relationally, I have become more social with my FFR family, and more active with my kids. My relationship with my wife is amazing, because when I feel better, she feels better.”

The FFR program has been life changing for Terry. FFR has been a God-send for Terry because he knew he needed to make changes. A few days before Coach JC came to his fire station, he was sitting at the table talking to his guys about how he needed to do something. He was very upset with himself because he didn’t know where to start. He knew diets did not work, but he did not know what to do. A couple of shifts later, Coach JC and Coach Jaime walked into his fire station to tell them about the Fit First Responders program. Terry says, “Our station was the first station they visited! It was definitely a God thing! I knew in my heart, that this was the program for me.”

Terry says FFR has made a huge difference in his work life. He explains, “No one can beat me to the fire truck when a drop hits. I am setting the standard for my crew! When your intensity and ability is high, it tends to increase everyone else’s performance. When I get up in the middle of the night now, I have no pain in my back or shoulders and I am able to perform my job so much better. I have 22 years on the job and was looking at retiring at 25 years. Now, I can work for 30 plus years easily!!”

As a top 15 finisher in the 25-week challenge, Terry says, “FFR has been a life changing event for me. There is no way I will go back to the way I was. I am going to keep winning with my health and nutrition. I am participating in the next 25 week challenge, but I have chosen to not be a contestant. I am focusing on my strength and helping others WIN in life. My role as a motivator and a mentor has brought several new participants to the program. I want to be a part of the growth of the FFR program across the nation. I am honored to be a part of the Fire Advisory Committee.”
